One of the couples had claimed to the businessman that the baby was theirs. Komal and Vikki Sharma, Jaya and Amit Sharma are suspected child traffickers based on the information provided by the adoptive parent Padmni.
The DNA samples of Jaya Sharma and Amit Sharma were collected as they claimed to be the biological parents of the baby. While they were brought to Gosha around 10 am, doctors finally collected the samples only around 4 pm as the authorities claimed that the hospital did not have the facility to collect DNA samples.
The samples could not be collected at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital as the court order directed only Gosha hospital to do so. But after the blood samples were finally collected, they could not be produced before the court as it was already quite late.
Police sources said that the court would forward the sample to the forensic department analyse the DNA and establish whether the Sharmas are indeed the baby’s parents.
