Mother kicks 1-year old to death
Annoyed by her one-year-old daughter’s cries while she was in the middle of a heated argument with her husband, a young woman kicked the child that led to her death, at T P Chathiram near Anna Nagar. Police have arrested the woman and the husband, who were remanded in judicial custody.

When Velu, a painter and a history-sheeter, was lodged in Puzhal prison, his wife Priyanka developed a relationship with Dinesh and had two children with him.
However, Dinesh was arrested and lodged in prison a few months ago, while Velu started living with Priyanka again after being released from prison.
On Friday night, Priyanka and Velu entered into a heated argument – police said both were in an inebriated.
In the midst of the argument, Priyanka’s second daughter, Pushpa (1), began crying. Angered by this, the woman kicked the child, rendering her unconscious. The child was declared brought dead at Kilpauk Medical College Hospital.
During autopsy, doctors found injuries on the baby’s body and made the couple lodge a police complaint of suspicious death. During investigations, T P Chathiram police found out that the child was kicked to death.
Both Priyanka and Velu were arrested and remanded.

The woman at the stall had found the child alone and crying, and took her to the stall waiting for her family.

Jawahar had come to the beach with his parents and relatives. After he went missing in the crowd, his parents approached police, who found him near a fish stall.
