Bring fuel under GST, demands Hindu outfit

A day after the BJP state president Tamilisai Soundararajan asserted that bringing fuel under GST would not reduce the income of the states, the leader of Hindu Makkal Katchi Arjun Sampath said the Union and state governments must jointly take action to bring petrol and diesel under GST.

Sampath, while urging the government to permit blending of 10 per cent ethanol with petrol and use of battery-operated vehicles, said several countries are planning to ban petrol and diesel as part of efforts to protect the environment
