Skill development conclave to help blend into the global era
Skilling India’s Future, a three-day Youth Skills Conclave was organized by Ignite India and Global Growth Institute at Agni College of Technology recently.

The objective of the conclave is to inculcate in the students, the spirit of leadership, by exposing them to a wide range of career options in their field of interest.
The conclave motivates to tap the talents of youngsters, hone their skills to make them innovative leaders of tomorrow, bring like-minded influencers together to forge a modern and developed future for India. The focal theme of the conclave is ‘reskilling India’s future’ with a focus on skill development.
As there is a strong need for an industry-academia-government connect, this conclave will provide a platform for all these three stakeholders to meet, discuss and deliberate on the issues of skill, growth and employability.
These discussions will help to create a roadmap for the future of skill developments in Tamil Nadu,
which can align with the national agenda of creating an effective workforce. The conclave was inaugurated by the minister for school education, KA Sengottaiyan.
Apoorva Varma, managing director, SIDCO, delivered the key note address. The principal Dr RS Kumar welcomed the gathering and Mr Agnishwar Jayaprakash, the Vice Chairman of the Agni Group presided over the function.
The minister mentioned the importance of skill development starting at school and to be continued in colleges. He appreciated Agni College of Technology for conducting such a skill development curriculum for all 4 years of BE and BTech. He added that the education system will be revamped totally to eliminate the “mug up” practice.
The first edition of this conference will see a large delegation of more than 100 vocational, educational and training organizations and also delegates from the United Kingdom. More than 500 students from various educational institutions registered for this three-day skill enhancement conclave.
