Charred body found in women’s public toilet in Teynampet
An unidentified man reportedly committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at a women’s public toilet on Venkatraman Street in Teynampet on Saturday.

Police said the deceased, believed to be around 25-years-old, had a rosary around his neck, and a bottle containing kerosene and a matchbox were also found beside him. The incident came to light when a few women who entered the toilet around 4 pm found the charred body.
Doctors at Omandurar government hospital, where the body was taken for autopsy, said that it was a case of suicide as no injuries other than the burns were found on the body. Police are trying to establish his identity with the help of CCTV footage retrieved from the area.
