Gang of five hacks fish trader

A fish trader was hacked by a gang of history-sheeters near his house on Friday. The victim, James (29), is undergoing treatment at a hospital and is said to be out of danger.

The Chintradripet police have launched a hunt for Pradeep, Sanjay, Appu, Vijayabhaskar and Venkatesh. It is said that James and Pradeep had a previous enmity.

Pradeep and two others, who were released from prison only two days ago, were searching for James on Thursday. When they found that James was hiding at his home in NN Colony, the gang went to there on Friday afternoon.

They dragged James out of the house and hacked him with machetes. With bleeding injuries, James ran of his life and found refuge in the Chintadripet police station.

Police said that the gang went into hiding. A case has been registered and a hunt is on for the suspects. Police said that James, too, is accused in some cases. Pradeep is the son of rowdy Dharga Mohan, police added.
