Rain lashes several parts of suburbs
Rain lashed Chennai suburbs while it drizzled at several parts of the city.

Ambattur, Padi, Avadi and other suburbs received substantial rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and lightning. According to Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), the thunderstorms developed as expected on Saturday.
“Areas in the West and North-west of Chennai will possibly will experience thunderstorm activity while the city suburbs are likely to receive a spell or two. Chennai, on the other hand, may experience just a drizzle,” said a weatherman.
Meanwhile, the city temperature remained high during afternoon and dropped in the evening. Chennai Nungambakkam and Airport observatories observed 38.3 and 39 degrees Celsius respectively.
Models indicate an increase in monsoon activity over Kerala from Monday, which is an indication of reducing thunderstorm activity in the days to come, added the expert.
Weather bloggers said, “North Tamil Nadu will see thunderstorms in the evening for two days in Chennai and suburbs will receive a spell or two.”
Meanwhile, rain accompanied by gusty winds and lightning lashed Ambattur, Padi, Avadi and other suburbs on Sunday afternoon.
