Virtusa helps faculty to learn new-age technology

Virtusa Corporation, a global provider of digital engineering and IT outsourcing services that accelerate business outcomes for its clients, recently held a valedictory function for the college faculties under the Virtusa Technology Orientation for Faculty (VTOF) program at their Chennai campus.

A total of 19 faculties from seven renowned colleges were awarded the certificate of participation. 

Speaking at the event, Dr Murali Padmanabhan, India head – talent management, said, “Through this program, we’re not just helping in upskilling the faculty but are also providing them complete exposure to the new-age technologies like Data Science, Big Data, Informatica, and Talend which will aid them in training the budding engineers at their respective colleges.” 

While felicitating the faculty at the event, Arvind Purushothaman, Vice-President and Global Head, Data Management Practice, said, “We are delighted that Virtusa Corporation has taken this great initiative of training the faculty on technologies which are highly relevant in today’s time and age. 

The IT industry is changing rapidly, and students today require extensive knowledge about new technologies to keep up with the fast-paced functioning of the trade. The main objective of this program is to enable faculty help make students industry ready.”
