Chromepet GH gets CT scan machine worth Rs 1.5 crore
As part of various initiatives taken up by the State government to improve facilities at government hospitals, a CT scan machine was inaugurated at the Chromepet Government Hospital, also known as the Tambaram Taluk Government Hospital.

Stating that the machine, accessories and turnkey together costed around Rs 1.5 crore, P Umanath, Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Medical Services
Corporation (TNMSC) said, “The 16-slice CT scan machine has been installed under the Trauma Care unit, something that the hospital had been looking forward to.”
“There are a total of 74 such machines in the state as some big government hospitals have multiple machines. We are in the process of setting up the same in 16 other places, two of which are likely to be inaugurated shortly. The remaining 14 are likely to take around four weeks,” he stated, adding that the machines have already been delivered to the hospitals and only the installation work and turnkey works are pending
