Justice PN Prakash, after going through the case diary produced by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Crime Branch, Kancheepuram, vacated the stay on the FIR registered against the said college. He observed that the police have zeroed in on a broker who had played an active role in the scam.
The matter relates to a police complaint filed by one Nasser Hamidavi Zegheiri against the management of Asan Memorial Dental College for removing him without returning his Rs 25 lakh taken for admission, despite knowing that NEET was compulsory for admission to medical courses.
Based on this, Kancheerpuam police registered a FIR against the college. Seeking to quash the FIR, the college management had moved the High Court and obtained an interim stay. Aggrieved over the stay granted to the college, the student sought revocation of the stay order. In the last hearing, the judge on conceding to the police submission that the stay on the FIR had stalled the probe, vacated it.
