Jayakumar said the state would not stand anybody who instigates violence through his/her vitriolic speeches.
“One should exercise self-restraint while speaking in the public. Whoever it may be, speaking in the tone of committing murders and severing limbs are not it good taste. It is totally wrong. Those who make such remarks belong to prison,” he said.
On the state’s efforts in making Tamil Nadu free of plastics, the Minster said the government has taken a positive step towards total ban of use of plastics as was done by several nations.
The plastic debris which pollutes the ocean disrupts the spawning of marine life. He said the state Fisheries Department along with Fisheries University are taking up a study of plastic pollutions entering the sea and would necessitate action on such firms or companies which lead to such pollution.
On providing alternate employment for the workers involved in the plastic sector, he said the government would take every measure to ensure that the work force involved is redistributed to other sectors. Earlier, the Minister also launched a boat race off Besant Nagar beach.
