They were immediately located roaming inside the Perambur railway station and restored back to their families. The boys were identified as K Sasikumar (9), a Class five student and T Kadwin, a Class two student, both from Modern Lane in Old Washermenpet.
They were playing on the street in front of their house and suddenly disappeared, fuelling rumours of child lifting. The families immediately lodged a police complaint. Meanwhile, Railway Police Force team found the two boys roaming on the third platform of Perambur station.
