On Thursday morning, the Egmore railway station manager got a letter from one Ganasan in Madurai. The manager passed the letter to the RPF officials in Egmore. The letter, written in Tamil, warned them about a bomb which will explod in Trisoolam railway station.

The letter further said that the man who had planted the bomb was N Ragavan, currently working as a gatekeeper at the Ananthapuram railway gate near Thenkasi in Tirunelveli district. It was also mentioned that there are four terrorists behind this and  Ragavan had received Rs 85 lakhs from the terrorists to place the bomb.

A police team and bomb squad reached the Tirusulam railway station to search the area. Passengers at the station were questioned and checked. The team searched Pallavaram and Meenambakkam railway stations also. The officials said that the checking will continue till August. RPF have formed special teams to identify who wrote the letter.

Police suspect that the letter could be the handiwork of someone who has enmity with the gatekeeper Ragavan.
