Centre misusing I-T dept for political gains, charges CPI
The CPI has hit out at the Central government, accusing it of conducting I-T raids in Tamil Nadu for the BJP’s political gains. The party further questioned the Centre on the lack of follow up to the raids and seizure of money.

In a resolution passed at the state administrative committee meeting of the party here, the CPI said after the continuous raids by the I-T department and seizure of crores of money,the AIADMK announced that it would not support the no-confidence motion against the Union government.
The announcement of the AIADMK clearly exposed the purpose of the raids, the party said and demanded what kind of action had been taken on those who are involved in the irregularities.
The party also said the industries in the State are facing a crisis even while the state government is boasting about more investments.
