Duraimurugan was recently elected the Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the state and on Monday he came to Secretariat to check the records available with the officials.

He then asked for the accounts of last year and checked the records too. According to officials, Duraimurugan had even insisted them to arrange for state wide inspection to check whether the schemes were implemented properly.

However, the biggest challenge for PAC is that, excluding Duraimurugan, remaining seven members of the committee are AIADMK members and cannot expect coordination on their part, said the officials. After meeting the officials, Duraimurugan addressed the media in which he said that he discussed about the agenda of PAC and the meeting to be held on August 1 and 2.

When asked whether there would be any radical change in the party in the general council meeting of the DMK, Duraimurugan replied that general council meet should be held according to the rules of the party but nothing great is expected to happen in the meet. When asked about the recent survey that Tamil Nadu is the second best administered state in the country, Duraimurugan said “Tamil Nadu is the worst administered and most corrupt state in the Country.”
