Two men held for molesting minors

Police said Govindaraj, (42), kidnapped a seven-year-old girl child who was riding a bi-cycle in front of her house at Besant Nagar. He took the child to an isolated lane nearby and tried to molest her. But passers-by who noticed it rescued the child.

The public who caught the man reportedly beat him up thoroughly before handing him over to Shastri Nagar police.

In another incident, Kodungaiyur police have arrested a man for molesting a 11-year-old girl. B Govindakumar (20) of Jharkhand allegedly molested the Class 6 girl when she was passing by a Tangedco office in Kaviyarasu Kannadasan Nagar. The girl informed her mother about the incident.

Based on the latter’s complaint, MKB Nagar All-Women Police station registered a case against Govindakumar under POCSO Act and remanded him in judicial custody.
