A day later, police find missing torso
A day after the severed head of a history-sheeter was found on a road at Urapakkam, his body was found just a few kilometres away inside a forest area at Meenakshipuram, on Monday.

Guduvanchery police rushed to the spot where Kamalakannan’s headless body was spotted by a shepherd, and sent it to the Chengalpattu GH.
Kamalkannan, who has attempt to murder cases pending against him, used to drive auto in the locality. According to his wife, he left the house around 11 pm after informing his wife he was going to pick up an important customer. However, when he failed to return, his wife filed a man missing complaint with the police.
In a further development, the deceased’s vehicle was found under the Chromepet overbridge. Subsequently, the police intensified the probe and sniffer dogs were also pressed into service. After the body was found near Meenakshipuram, the police team sought the help of the Village Administrative Officer to find out whether the land where the body was recovered comes under the forest jurisdiction or was a poramboke land.
Guduvanchery police said that Kamalakannan’s head was found near the house of Amudha, with whom he had an affair.
