Light evening showers forecast in Chennai today
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) here has forecast light evening showers in the city and its suburbs on Monday.

In its bulletin issued on Sunday, the met department said the sky condition is likely to be generally cloudy.
“There will be a development of thunder clouds towards evening or night. Light rain is likely to occur in some areas,” said a duty official at the RMC.
The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city are likely to be around 37 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
The Nungambakkam observatory on Sunday recorded a maximum temperature of 35.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius. The Nungambakkam observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 36.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum temperature of 23.3 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, several areas in and around Chennai received rainfall throughout Saturday night. The DGP office and Ennore Automatic Weather Station (AWS) got 4 cm of rain each, Puzhal Automatic Rain Gauge (ARG), Red hills, Cholavaram and Kattukuppam ARG got 3 cm each. The Nungambakkam observatory recorded nearly 2 cm rain.
The city has been receiving intense spells of rainfall in evening hours for the last few days.
