Woman loses phone to snatchers in Nungambakkam
A 25-year-old woman lost her expensive smartphone to a snatcher in the wee hours of Tuesday. The victim, Aditi Doss, is an employee of a hotel near Anna flyover. She stepped out of the hotel to return to her hostel in Nungambakkam around 12.15 am.

While she was waiting after booking a cab on Nungambakkam High Road, an unidentified man snatched her mobile phone and ran away. When Aditi tried to chase him, the man got onto a waiting bike, and the duo managed to escape.
Thousand Lights police have registered a case and have collected CCTV footage from the locality. Meanwhile, ICF police have arrested a history-sheeter for allegedly snatching a 13.5 sovereign chain from a woman.
The accused, A Soniraj (38) of Elephant Gate, has already been detained under the Goondas Act four times, said police. The incident happened on Monday, when D Glory (53) of Kolathur was returning home via New Avadi Road after attending a wedding.
Similarly, St Thomas Mount Police have arrested a history-sheeter in connection with a series of mobile phone and chain snatching incidents.
