10 held for violence at temple fest
The City Police arrested 10 people, including a juvenile, for damaging vehicles during a dispute at a temple festival in Selaiyur.

During the festival at Ponniyamman temple in the locality, two parties entered into a fight and attacked each other with weapons. On receipt of information, police arrived at the spot and arrested those who were involved in the violence. Police said that five two-wheelers, four autorickshaws and window panes of a few houses were damaged in the ruckus, police said.
The accused persons were identified as Yuvraj (25), Gajendran (22), Krishnan (23), Rajesh (23). Vinothkumar (20), Mohan (21), Vinoth (22), Ramesh (26) and J Vinoth (26).
The police produced all of them before a court and nine were remanded in judicial custody. Based on court orders, the juvenile was sent to an observation home in the city, said sources.
