Writing in the party organ ‘Murasoli’, working president MK Stalin announced that the speeches would be published as books and their shortened versions would be posted on social networking sites.

Stalin said that leaders of rival political parties had also participated and heaped praises on Karunanidhi in the memorial meeting only because they had won his love.

Stating that Karunanidhi’s treatment of parties notwithstanding the differing ideologies was laudable, Stalin said, “Leaders of parties, which differed with the DMK, also appreciated that political culture of the leader in the memorial meeting.”

DMK’s allies had opined  that Stalin would have done well to also invite the ruling AIADMK for the memorial meeting.

“Tamil Nadu also has parties which do not have any ideology. We need not bother about them,” added Stalin. The ruling AIADMK and Vijayakanth’s DMDK were the only two popular parties that did not find space in the Tirunelveli memorial meeting.

Stalin also thanked the participating leaders and their parties for proposing the Bharat Ratna and a university named after Karunanidhi.

Stalin, who is set to take over as the party president at the General Council meeting scheduled today, would lead the memorial meeting to be organised here on August 30. Leaders of several national parties will take part in that event.
