Minor murders woman after she abuses his mom

The deceased, Parimala (31) was a resident of Subbarayan Nagar at Nammalwarpet near Ayanavaram. According to police, after her husband Govindaraj’s death a few years ago, Parimala was involved in a relationship with Senthil, who is currently abroad. Her son, a student, is staying at a hostel in Mylapore, while she was working as a maid in the same neighbourhood. 

Police said Parimala and Bhagyalakshmi were friends until Parimala reportedly abused Bhagyalakshmi due to differences recently. Bahgyalakshmi informed her 17-year-old son about the incident. Enraged by the abuses that were hurdled on his mother, the boy went to Parimala’s house on Friday night. Police said the minor was under the influence of alcohol.

In a fit of rage, he stabbed Parimala on the back of her head, abdomen and hands. Hearing her screams, neighbours rushed to her house for her rescue. They saw Bhagyalakshmi’s son running out of the house, and inside, Parimala was lying in a pool of blood. She was rushed to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, but she was declared brought dead. 

The Secretariat Colony police registered a case and conducted an inquiry. Based on the information from neighbours, police detained the minor who was standing among the crowd. During interrogation, he revealed that he stabbed her and threw the knife behind a tea shop. The knife was recovered, and the boy was sent to juvenile observation home.
