Man held for attacking SI

The MKB Nagar police on Wednesday arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly attacking a sub-inspector in Vyasarpadi.

The accused, Jagadeesan, was traced to his hideout in Kennedy Nagar and was remanded in judicial custody.

Based on an alert that a man was creating ruckus at a Tasmac shop on Vyasarpadi-Erukkancheri Road on Tuesday night, sub-inspector Gnanadass rushed to the spot and found Jagadeesan quarrelling with the Tasmac staff. When he tried to intervene, Jagadeesan, who was inebriated, attacked the officer, tore his uniform and fled the spot. Based on the police officer’s complaint, police arrested Jagadeesan.
