6 workers injured in star hotel fire
Six workers were injured in a fire that broke out at a star hotel at Ekkattuthangal during the wee hours of Friday.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 2.30 am when the staff were busy cleaning fire exit tubes in the kitchen.
Around ten members were around the tubes when the fire started. “Since, there were automatic fire alarms and the main gas pipeline was shut off, the fire could be doused automatically,” a police officer said. However, six staff members sustained injuries.
‘The injured were identified as Murugan, Venkatesan, Eswaran, Venkat, Giriraj and Govind and admitted to a private hospital in Vanagaram. Police noted that Venkatesan has 50 per cent burns while Eswaran and Giriraj have 30 per cent burns.
Others suffered 5 to 10 per cent burns. A case has been registered by Guindy police and further investigation is on.
