Look-out notice issued against ‘missing’ bizman

Tamil Nadu police have issued a Look out circular against businessman and socialist Ranvir Shah, who is missing since Idol Wing CID sleuths seized hundreds of antique artefacts from his residence in Saidapet and two farms in Kancheepuram district. The Idol Wing office had issued summons to him, but he had not responded to it.

Since he is missing, a ‘look- out’ circular was issued against him, a senior official said. “It is possible that he may try to get an anticipatory bail,” he added.

A source revealed that the Idol Wing has collected solid evidence against other socialites who run art galleries and coffee shops in the city.

“A female friend of Shah packed two truckloads of artefacts from her premises in the city when Idol Wing sleuths started searching Shah’s house last week. A couple of days ago, 18 stone pillars and idols were recovered from under a bridge in Ponneri,” the source noted.

The Idol Wing team is also said to have collected evidence after interviewing a shop keeper, now lodged in prison, for threatening a well-known café owner by shooting a video of a truck full of artefacts being shifted from her premises. A cop from a local police station had reportedly deleted all the videos before arresting him and sending him behind bars, the source added.
