Police said that the girl identified as Berlin Princy is the daughter of Antony Charles, an employee of a private security firm. She was playing in front of the church after the Sunday morning prayers. She had gone to the church with her mother Ruth Meera, her younger brother Prince, grandmother and aunt.
Based on a complaint from Antony Charles, the police who went through the CCTV footage noted that the girl was escorted out of the church premises by a 50-year-old woman. The Pallikaranai police have formed a special to team to trace the girl.
“It is usual for Berlin to play with other children at the church every Sunday and the parents were very much there when the woman guided the girl out of the premises,” police noted.
It may be noted that the Kancheepuram police had been hunting for kidnappers of a two-year-old girl, who was abducted when she was sleeping with her parents on the roadside three weeks ago, from a village Anaikattu near Kalpakkam.
