Daily wage labourer hacked to death near Avadi

The victim, S Raj Tiwari, had come to city three weeks ago and was working in a sand agency. On Sunday night, a quarrel erupted between Raj Tiwari and his friends at Veerapuram Service Road a few metres away from their residence, which they were sharing.

In a fit of rage, his friends hacked him to death and fled the spot. Passers-by noticed Raj Tiwari lying in a pool of blood and alerted the Avadi Tank Factory police. He was taken to the Avadi Governmetn Hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Police have picked up his co-workers for investigation.
