The civic body started updating the details of the work and contractors who took tender to lay and repair bus routes on its official website from March 2015. “For the first two years, the civic body was uploading the details daily. But the officials, citing a technical snag, stopped uploading the information nearly a year ago,” a contractor seeking anonymity said.

The contractor also levelled allegations saying that the civic body’s lack of transparency has raised doubts of gross irregularities. Meanwhile, a contractor had filed a petition in the High Court against the Corporation’s lack of transparency while awarding tenders for roadworks. When asked about the issue, a senior official said that the problem would be rectified and the details would be uploaded soon.

Allegations are also rife that the civic body delays the uploading of the tender bulletins in its portal apart from uploading special council resolutions in incompatible fonts, making reading difficult. The civic body releases tender bulletins every week and conducts special council meetings every month.
