Class 9 boy dies after falling off MTC footboard

Hemachandran (14), a resident of Panankathur village in Maraimalai Nagar, was on the way to school at Chengalpattu when the mishap occurred. The police said as the bus was nearing the Chengalpattu new bus stop, he moved from his seat and got on to the steps to alight. But in the jostle that reportedly transpired, he lost his balance, fell off the steps and suffered grievous injuries on his head. He was rushed to the Chengalpattu Medical College Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The Chengalpattu town police have registered a case and held inquires with both the driver and the conductor about the mishap.
