3 held for robbing mobile phone shop employee of Rs 70 lakh
Three persons suspected of robbing a mobile phone retailer firm employee of Rs 70 lakh in Seven Wells on Monday was arrested by the police. The incident took place 10 days ago.

The victim, K Rafiq Khan (36), is an employee of Jaffer, who sells mobile phones online and has an office at Hanging Gardens in Royapuram. On November 1 night, Jaffer gave Rafiq Khan Rs 70 lakh in cash and asked him to hand it over to another businessman in Seven Wells.
When Rafiq Khan was passing by Perianna Street, a gang that came in two bikes intercepted and attacked him with wooden logs before fleeing the spot with the cash.
Based on Jaffer’s complaint, Seven Wells police registered a case and launched a hunt for the gang. On information that they have been hiding in Puducherry, a special team rushed there and arrested the key accused, Sheik Dawood (42) of Washermanpet, Kishore (24) of Gummidipoondi and Sathish (24) of Ponneri. A hunt has been launched for five more suspects.
Further inquiry is on to find out who informed the gang about the cash being transported.
