Five women held for selling temple land
Five women were arrested while the police have launched a hunt for four others of a same family for selling a temple land worth Rs 1 crore near Acharapakkam, on Thursday. The arrested persons were identified as Muniyamma (52), Radha (56), Rukmani (56), Maariammal (54) and Sathya (38) from Acharapakkam.

Police said that Aksheeswaraswamy Temple is situated in Acharapakakm near Madurantakam in Kancheepuram. Recently, the temple executive officer Saravanan filed a complaint with the Kancheepuram anti-land grabbing cell that 1.32 acres of the temple land in Acharpakkam had been sold illegally by a family using forged documents.
Police are searching four others – Velavan, Jothi, Anbalagan and Lakshmi.
