A trough in easterlies from Kanniyakumari to interior Tamil Nadu at 5.8 km above the mean sea level has become less marked. In the last 24 hours, the places Bhoothapandy (Kanniyakumari district), Mannargudi (Tiruvarur district) recorded 5 cm each and Ambasamudram (Tirunelveli District) received 4 cm of rainfall.

While the northeast monsoon has been active over Kerala, light to moderate Northeasterlies or Easterlies prevails over the region in the lower tropospheric levels.

The city will record a maximum and minimum temperatures of around 32 Degree Celsius and 25 Degree Celsius respectively.

Earlier this week, a well-marked low pressure over southwest Bay of Bengal was identified. The low pressure brought rains to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for about three days.
