Central government staffer ends life in Tirumangalam

A 52-year-old Central government employee committed suicide at his house in Tirumangalam on Sunday night allegedly over mounting debt.

The deceased identified as Gnanasekar. Police said that he was employed at the government auditing firm in Teynampet and was residing with his wife Margaret and two children at CPW quarters in Tirumangalam. As he did not step of his room on Monday morning, his family members on suspicion broke open the door with the help of neighbours and saw him hanging from the ceiling fan.


On receipt of information, the Tirumangalam police recovered his body and sent it to Kilpuak Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination.


After preliminary inquiry, the police said that Rajesh Kanna was upset for the last few days over mounting debt. A case has been registered and furtherinvestigation is on.
