Dr Karthikeyan, a paediatrician from Valasaravakkam, has been running a clinic on the Second Street of State Bank Colony in Saligramam. On Friday night, when he was meeting the patients, three men allegedly entered the hospital and tried to kidnap him at knifepoint.
When Karthikeyan raised an alarm, others rushed to his rescue. On seeing the gathering, the trio tried to flee the spot. However, people managed to secure one of them and handed him over to the Virugambakkam police.
During investigation, the police identified him as Loga Brahman (22) of Pudukottai district. Police said that one of his relative’s child, who was treated by Karthikeyan eight months ago, had later died at ICH in Egmore. In a bid to revenge, he tried to kidnap Karthikeyan. The police have launched a hunt for other two persons and also checking the veracity of the Loga Brahman’s allegations.
