Speaking to the reporters on the side-lines of the event, Minister Pandiarajan said that the Chief Minister would soon make a formal announcement regarding the server farm.

“The government is busy preparing for the second Global Investors Meet to be held soon. During this meet, a lot of thrust will be given to bringing industries to the Sriperumbudur industrial belt and as part of this initiative, a server farm is likely to be set up here,” Pandiarajan said. The Minister added that the land acquisition process for the server farm would commence soon.

A server farm is a set of many servers interconnected together and housed within the same physical facility. It provides the combined computing power of many servers by simultaneously executing one or more applications or services. A server farm is generally a part of an enterprise data centre
