Machine Intelligence course under way at IIT Madras

The Center for Computational Brain Research (CCBR) at Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) started classes for the Machine Intelligence and Brain Research course on Wednesday.

The aim of the course–which is open to students outside IIT-M for auditing–is to decipher the common underlying principles of the human brain and Intelligent Machines.


Prof Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IIT-M, said, “This is an area in which a lot of capacity building is required in the country and these workshops are one way to build this aspect. Eminent researchers from across the world are conducting this workshop, and students can learn a lot from them.”


This year’s event maintains continuity with last year’s format and consists of a broad spectrum of international lecturers, all world-renowned experts in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience.


The CCBR chair professors–prof Partha Mitra from Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, USA, prof Mriganka Sur from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA and prof Anand Raghunathan from Purdue University, USA–along with world-renowned experts will deliver lectures on Brain Science andArtificial Intelligence.
