Snatchers push elderly woman, escape with chain
Two unidentified men escaped after snatching a nine-sovereign gold chain from a 64-year-old woman near Nanganallur in broad daylight. According to the police, the incident happened around 9 am on Monday.

R Vijayalakshmi, a resident of MMDC Colony, was walking on the State Bank Colony Main Road when a man approached her from behind. He suddenly caught hold of her chain and pulled it. As Vijayalakshmi resisted, he pushed her down, snatched her chain and started to run.
His accomplice, who was waiting with a bike a few metres away, picked him up and they both escaped. The incident has shocked the residents. The Pazhavanthangal police have registered a case and trying to identify the robbers with the help of CCTV footage.
