Cambridge Assessment English to equip students

The major thrust of the MoU is to introduce Cambridge English exams across Vel Tech Institutions and other educational institutes in and around Avadi. It is hoped that through the MoU, Vel Tech will offer PG Programmes (MA) enhanced with Cambridge English programmes for developing the communication skills of students to increase chances of study or work across the globe and their general employability.

Dr Rangarajan, founder chancellor and president and Dave Baker, assistant director, Cambridge Assessment English, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. This event was followed by a brief discussion on the ways to take this understanding forward.

Dave Baker said, “We are happy to be associated Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr.Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology and laud their initiative to provide a platform to help students in developing their language and communication skills and gain international certification.”

Cambridge English would conduct workshops to upgrade the knowledge of teachers in the institution by training them in the use of latest pedagogies. The institution would also explore opportunities of collaborating with Cambridge English to work on the projects of teachers’ professional development. Cambridge English exams can open up a world of study, work or travel opportunities. These high-quality international exams are designed to develop practical English language communication skills for career and study success and extensively researched by one of the world’s largest dedicated language research teams.

These exams open doors to higher education, improve employment opportunities, and increase choice of study or work for the students. With a Cambridge English Certificate, the student will be able to prove his/her English language skills that would enable him/her to sign up for universities, employers and governments aroundthe world.
