The police then booked him for drunken drive. After confiscating his car, the police then parked it under the flyover at Vadapalani junction at around 10.30 pm on Wednesday.

Some passers-by at around 3.30 am on Thursday noticed the car on fire and informed the nearby Vadapalani police station.

Police noted that the driver decided to set the car on fire to settle score with the police for booking him under drunken driving case and for taking his vehicle in police custody. Sources said that the particular car was linked to the network of a call taxi aggregator and was running for a hotel on 100 feet road in Vadapalani.
