Two policemen chase murder suspect on bike, suffer injuries
While chasing a murder suspect on a two-wheeler, two policemen fell and suffered injuries when they tried to nab the suspect in TP Chatram on Wednesday night.

The injured policemen were chasing Rajesh alias Rajesh Kanna of Shenoy Nagar, who was allegedly involved in the murder of ‘Theechatti’ Murugan (39), a history-sheeter.
Police came to know that Rajesh was holed up in Parameswaram Nagar in TP Chatram. Acting accordingly, Subash, sub inspector of police along with Mathiyazhagan, constable from the TP Chatram police station reached the neighbourhood on a bike searching for the murder suspect.
Though the police team spotted the accused they could not apprehend him. He tried to run away from the spot after threatening the policemen. Later, he attacked the policemen and escaped from the scene. Two policemen chased Rajesh on a two-wheeler. At one point, Subash, who was pillion riding, tried to nab Rajesh from the moving bike.
While attempting to hold of,Subahsh fell on Rajesh and Mathiyazhagan lost control of the vehicle. All the three along with the bike fell on the road. Though the policemen suffered fracture in the incident, they managed to nab the suspect and arrested him. Both the injured policemen were later taken to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for treatment.
‘Theechatti’ Murugan was hacked to death by a gang on January 31, 2017 in suspected revenge killing by the relatives and friends of another gangster Jayaraj, who was murdered by Murugan in 2013. Murugan was sitting in a grocery shop in TP Chatram when a motorcycle-borne gang came reached the spot and hacked him to death.
