Techie held for hoax bomb threat
A 40-year-old techie, who called the police control room and threatened that he has planted bombs at Chief Minister’s house on Saturday night, was arrested.

The accused, Sikandhar Basha of Adambakkam is an IT firm employee. On Saturday, the police on patrol in Kanathur secured Sikandhar for drunken driving and seized his vehicle. After this, Sikandhar called the police control room and abused the personnel apart from asking them to rush to the Chief Minister’s house saying that he had planted bombs there. Later, police arrested Sikandhar under Sections 75 of City Police Act, 7(1)(a) of the Criminal Law Amendment Act and 506/2 of IPC and remanded him in judicial custody.
