Gold missing from dance master’s house

More than 15 sovereigns of gold were allegedly reported missing from the house of a dance master on Wednesday. The police said that Savitha (38), a resident of Vivekananda Street at Gandhi Nagar in Saligramam, realised her ornaments were missing on Wednesday.

Police said that she returned home after visiting a temple around 12 noon on Wednesday. She noticed that the gold chain that she had kept near the window was missing around 5 pm, the police said.

Meanwhile, two women lost 20 sovereigns of gold chains in two snatching incidents. The police said R Roopa (42) of Shanthi Nagar in Kolathur was walking near SRP Colony on Wednesday night around 8pm when two bike-borne men snatched her five-sovereign gold chain and sped away.

In the second incident Akila of Thiru Nagar in Villivakkam had gone to a grocery shop nearby on Thursday morning when two men on a two-wheeler snatched her 15-sovereign gold chain and escaped. The Villivakkam police have registered a case and are investigating.
