When Kasturi of Pallavan Street in Abiramapuram was walking towards MundagaKanni Amman temple in Mylapore, three women in an auto-rickshaw stopped her.
They requested her to help them locate the bus stand nearby, and offered to dropher at the temple. Believing them, Kasturi boarded the auto.
As the auto crossed Gramani Street, the trio threatened the elderly woman and snatched her gold. Later, they dropped her near the temple and threatened her with dire consequences if she approached the police.
The woman then lodged a complaint at the Abiramapuram police station. Based on her complaint, the police have registered acase and have launched a hunt for the women robbers and the auto-rickshaw driver who helped in the crime.
