3 tourists fall from EMU at station, hurt
Three passengers, including two women, fell from an EMU train to the platform at Pallavaram railway station when the train began to move before all passengers could alight on Thursday.

The injured were identified as M Sumalatha (59) from New Delhi, A Papil Roy (57) from Punjab and Nandha Kishore (59) also from New Delhi. They were taken to the Chromepet Government Hospital for treatment.
The police said that a group of 71 tourists from Delhi and Punjab reached the city 15 days ago and Thursday was the final day of their trip. The accident happened when the group reached Pallavaram railway station to go to the hotel they were staying in. They boarded the EMU train from Thambaram on the way back from Kanyakumari.They were to catch a flight back to Delhi and Punjab lather that night.
When they reached Pallavaram, the loco pilot suddenly moved the train without noticing that the passengers are still deboarding from the train. In the melee, three of them fell on the platform and sustained injuries on their shoulders and head.
Other passengers alerted the loco pilot and the train was stopped immediately. The injured persons were taken to the Chromepet Government Hospital in an ambulance.
