According to the police, one of the victims Satyanarayanan, a resident of First Avenue, L Block, owns a car showroom at Perambur. The incident happened after he went to his native in Andhra Pradesh along with his family four days ago.

It came to light when a domestic helper went to his house on Monday and found the locks of the main door broken. She immediately informed the owner and neighbours. Satyanarayanan’s family reached the city on Tuesday and found 100 sovereigns and Rs 60 lakh in cash stolen from the house, said the police.

The gang also targeted a textile shop and house on 26th Street of the same block, belonging to Murali Krishnan, and stole Rs 6 lakh. While the shop is on the ground floor, his house is situated on the first floor.

The gang reportedly also stole Rs 50,000 in cash, five CCTV cameras and the DVR set from a water purifier office situated on the 21st Street.

The police have registered cases and investigating if the same gang was involved in all the three incidents. They are also going through the CCTV footage recovered from the locality to nab the burglars.
