Corpn gives prizes worth Rs 12.65 lakhs to students

“As many as 45,111 students studying in Chennai Corporation primary and middle schools participated in the sports meet for the academic year 2018-2019 and prizes worth Rs 3.63 lakh were distributed to 2,772 students who won the zonal level competition. 

Also, 400 students studying in Corporation-run Kindergarten (KG) received prizes worth Rs 80,000,” a press release said.

Prizes worth Rs 6.42 lakh was given to 3,000 students studying in Corporation higher secondary schools.

“Finals of the competitions were held in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on February 5 and medals worth Rs 1.32 lakh were given to 318 students,” the release added.

Karthikeyan also handed over shields to 31 Chennai Corporation school students, who won laurels in state and national-wide sports events.
