The deceased, Abitha, and her husband Senthamarai (42) of Pudukkottai, were married for 12 years. While Senthamarai is running a computer sales and service centre in Arumbakkam, Abitha is a house wife. Their children —Lakshminarayanan (10) and Mahalakshmi (7) — were studying Class 5 and Class 3 respectively at a private school.
The police said that the couple fought frequently as Senthamarai suspected Abitha was cheating on him. On Friday night, they fought over the issue. Senthamarai left for work as usual on Saturday and he called his wife in the evening. As she did not answer his calls, he rushed to house which was locked from inside.
He broke open the house and found his wife and two children hanging from the ceiling. In a suicide note, Abitha accused Senthamarai of suspecting her of having an illicit affair, said the police. While Senthamarai was taken into custody for interrogation, the police wereyet to arrest him.
