Woman stabbed for rejecting marriage proposal

The victim, who works as the receptionist at a popular spa on Ormes Road in Kilpauk, is separated from her husband. She has a five-year-old child, said the police. She reportedly developed a relationship with one M Victor, who was the manager of the spa till two months ago. When Victor proposed to marry her, she allegedly turned it down claiming that she would like to reconcile with her husband.

However, Victor continued to stalk the woman and insisted that they should get married. Following this, the woman raised a complaint about Victor with the spa administration after which he was sacked.

Infuriated over this development, Victor went to the spa on Saturday and got into an argument with her. In the scuffle, he took out a knife, slit her throat and also stabbed her in the abdomen. Other employees secured Victor and handed him over to the Kilpauk police.

The woman was rushed to a private hospital. She is out of danger and there were no deep injuries, said the police. The Kilpauk all-women police registered a case and arrested Victor. He was then produced in the court and remanded in judicial custody.
