TN to get light showers
After a prolonged dry spell, the city received light showers on Thursday morning. The observatory in Nungambakkam recorded a rainfall of 4 mm while Meenambakkam station had recorded 3 mm of rainfall. This is the second rain episode experienced by the city since February 4.

While the interior districts of the Tamil Nadu were receiving scanty rainfall for over these days. So far, the districts Kanniyakumar and Tirunelveli received rainfall of 2.5 mm and 0.7 mm respectively.
“Light rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Tamil Nadu. Even the city has chances of receiving showers on Friday. The trough over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Kanniyakumari area,” said an on-duty officer of RMC. For the next 48 hours, the sky is going to be slightly overcast and is likely to record maximum and minimum temperatures of around 33 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
