Juvenile held for raping 17-yr-old girl

The police arrested the boy who was a Class 9 dropout from Gandhi Nagar in Padpai. He was working at a private firm in Oragadam and was in a relationship with a 16-year-old girl, who was also working in the same firm.

The police said that the boy raped the girl after promising to marry her. The girl’s parents, who came to know about this, confronted the boy. However, he refused to marry the girl after which they filed a complaint with the Siva Kanchi police 15 days ago.

After knowing that the police are searching for him, the boy absconded. On Wednesday, he was secured near Kancheepuram bus stop. The police then produced him before the Chengalpattu juvenile court and sent to an observation home in the city.
